Tucson On 2 Launch Infographic

Opportunity

In 2013, Allstate selected Tucson, Arizona as one of 14 cities to receive a pilot program, “Allstate Safe & Secure Community” to improve the communities’ safety and quality of life. Instead of presenting Tucson city officials with template programs, Allstate’s Southwest Regional Corporate Relations team collaborated with city officials to focus on a safety issue of their choice, which was pedestrian and bicycle safety.

Solution

Tucson on 2 raised awareness of pedestrians and bicyclists on the road. We hosted a launch party for local media, where we distributed bike safety collateral and media information, including the infographic I created, which was displayed on several Tucson news broadcasts. I also designed window clings for Tucson small businesses to spread awareness and support for pedestrian safety.

Our goal was to reduce bike and pedestrian fatalities by 10%. We helped reduced them by 40% in 2013.

8 Allstate agencies in Tucson were part of the campaign, which was more than double our goal. More importantly, their anecdotal feedback and involvement in the process helped Tucson become a safer community.
